Eyvindarholt is a peaceful place where you can enjoy nature as well as seeing Northern Lights during winter. 

Eyvindarholt is an old farm located in the heart of South Iceland nearby many of the main attractions in the South. It is only 5 min drive to the waterfall Seljalandsfoss and waterfall Gljúfrabúi and it takes you only about 50 minutes to drive to the black sand beach Reynisfjara and village Vík. 

Skógafoss waterfall is also nearby as well as Sólheimajökull glacier, and the town Hvolsvöllur, as well as many other attractions. The central location offers you the opportunity to do day tours from Eyvindarholt to the Golden Circle where you can see Gullfoss waterfall and the Geysir hot spring area. It is also possible to drive out east to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and the National park Skaftafell. 

Eyvindarholt is private property so you can do some short hiking towards the mountains surrounding the place. It is easy to spend a few days exploring the mountains, waterfall, glaciers, black lava beaches, hot springs and volcanoes in the area. The ferry to Vestmannaeyjar Island is only 15 min drive away, so it is perfect to do a day tour from Eyvindarholt to the island to explore the birds and the volcanoes there. 

The location is also perfect if you like to explore the southern highlands of Iceland including places like Þórsmörk Valley (The valley of the gods) and Landmannalaugar hot spring area with its colourful mountains. The Volcano Hekla is also close by. 

The house is located underneath the famous glacier and volcano Eyjafjallajökull that erupted in the year 2010. It is only about 5 min drive from the main road to Eyvindarholt.
